Terms and Conditions: Luxfit
1. Scope of Work
Luxfit agrees to provide custom cabinetry services, including design, manufacturing, and installation of kitchen and wardrobe units as specified in the approved Final Quotation and Design Plan.
Any changes requested after the signing of the design plan may incur additional material and labor costs.
2. Pricing and Payment Terms
All prices are quoted in Uganda Shillings (UGX) unless otherwise stated.
Deposit: A non-refundable commitment fee of 60% is required to commence sourcing and production.
Progress Payment: 30% is due upon delivery of materials to the site.
Final Balance: The remaining 10% is due immediately upon completion of installation and hand-over.
Validity: Quotations are valid for 14 days due to the fluctuating costs of imported boards and hardware.
3. Client Responsibilities (Site Readiness)
To ensure a seamless installation, the client must ensure:
The site is plastered, leveled, and dry (wet walls can cause boards to warp/swell).
Electrical and plumbing points are positioned according to the Luxfit technical drawing before installation begins.
Safe and secure storage is provided for materials delivered to the site.
4. Delivery and Timeline
The standard lead time is 55 to 75 working days from the date of deposit and final measurement confirmation.
Luxfit shall not be held liable for delays caused by "Force Majeure" (e.g., heavy rains, road closures, or supply chain disruptions at the Mombasa port).
5. Warranty and Maintenance
Luxfit provides a 12-month limited warranty on:
Workmanship: Loose hinges, misaligned doors, or drawer runners.
Hardware: Mechanical failure of handles or soft-close mechanisms.
Exclusions: The warranty does not cover damage caused by water leakage (plumbing issues), pests (termites), or "misuse" (e.g., overloading shelves beyond capacity).
6. Ownership and Risk
Title of Goods: All cabinets and hardware remain the legal property of Luxfit until the final balance is paid in full.
Risk: Once materials are delivered to the client’s premises, the risk of loss or accidental damage shifts to the client.
7. Cancellations and Returns
Because these products are custom-made to specific dimensions, orders cannot be canceled once cutting has commenced.
Materials used (MDF, HDF, Marine Ply) cannot be returned for a refund if the client changes their mind after installation.
8. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the Laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any disputes shall first be settled through mediation before proceeding to the Courts of Law.
